Project Overview

The goal of this project was to rank a newly launched clothing brand on the primary page of Amazon by using only PPC strategies. The brand came in 20 sizes/color variations, and we chose the one with the least and most suitable color for our strategy. The emphasis was on the PPC Micro-Campaign Strategy, which involved growing small, centered PPC campaigns with a minimal daily price range for one or two key phrases to optimize monitoring, control prices, and improve conversion. We used exact, broad, or phrase match types in varying bid amounts, focusing on long-tail key phrases having low CPC, and a high probability of conversion as the target. Reaching the conversion rate of 23% was the main target, but another problem was keeping the CPC under control and cutting down the ACOS.

Planning

  • Micro-Campaigns Strategy:

Created small campaigns targeting one or two keywords with a small daily budget.

 Focused on long-tail keywords for lower CPC and higher conversion chances.

  • Campaign Structure:

Launched manual Exact campaigns alongside Auto Close campaigns with higher bids.

Ensured auto campaigns targeted relevant keywords to train the Amazon A10 algorithm.

  • Bid and Match Type Experimentation:

Experimented with different match types (Exact, Broad, Phrase) and bid amounts.

Ran multiple ad campaigns for the same keywords with varying parameters.

  • Monitoring and Adjustments:

Monitored ACOS, keyword performance, spend, and CTR closely.

Adjusted bids and campaign settings based on performance data. 

Results We Brought

We achieved over 20 daily orders solely through PPC, despite having no social proof on the listing. The strategic implementation of the PPC Micro-Campaign Strategy proved highly effective, allowing us to rank the newly launched clothing product on the first page of Amazon. This success validated our approach of focusing on long-tail keywords, experimenting with various bid amounts and match types, and continuously monitoring and adjusting the campaigns based on performance data.
